From the Principal

I have the honour and privilege of welcoming you to Elsternwick Primary School (EPS).

We hope this provides you with a picture of what our vibrant school has to offer.

I know choosing a school for your child is a very important decision. The connection between the school and families is critical for each child’s learning potential. It needs to be a respectful partnership, where people feel valued and their thoughts, concerns and opinions heard.

At Elsternwick Primary School, we have a strong focus on:

  • Building a learning culture that values effort and provides opportunities for students to develop a growth mindset
  • Building learning environments which appreciate individual, local and global differences
  • Empowering students to take action for a sustainable future
  • Creating opportunities to expand students’ understanding of the world through encouraging deeper thinking, questioning, reflection and creativity

We are committed to the highest standards of public service by demonstrating responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and promoting human rights in our everyday work. People are at the heart of our school and Child Safety is our first priority.

We are very fortunate to have a caring, highly trained, hardworking, experienced, committed and professional staff that are willing to contribute far above what would normally be expected. They are dedicated to developing each child’s potential and strive to achieve best practice in their approach to teaching and learning. Frequent participation in quality Professional Development activities is encouraged and a very strong emphasis is placed on a team approach to curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation.

Thank you for your interest in EPS. I encourage you to learn more about us and our learning journey through our website and/or by contacting our school. I look forward to our partnership, and am truly excited with the directions, possibilities and opportunities for education at our school.
